The Town’s Annual Oval Renovation Program starts today, set to maintain and improve public ovals across the Hedland LGA.
The works have a projected conclusion date of Friday 23 October, and include removing thatch build up to promote new growth, aerating and de-compacting soil and applying soil fertiliser.
Benefits of the works include improved playing fields for town sports teams, better aesthetics and asset longevity.
Please be mindful of workers carrying out the Program, abide by signage and do not disrupt works.
Oval Renovation Schedule:
- Tuesday 6 October: Collin Matheson Oval, Kevin Scott Oval
- Wednesday 7 October: Marie Marlin Oval, Kevin Scott Oval
- Thursday 8 October: Marie Marlin Oval
- Friday 9 October: Marie Marlin Oval, McGregor Street Oval
- Saturday 10 October: McGregor Street Oval
- Monday 12 October: McGregor Street Oval, Turf Club and fertilise all ovals
- Tuesday 13 October: Turf Club and fertilise all ovals
