Community organisations and service providers are invited to submit their details to be listed in the new Town of Port Hedland community directory, a free hard copy and online publication which highlights Hedland’s diverse services.
The publication is printed annually, giving locals and tourists the key service provider descriptions, contact details and locations in the Port Hedland LGA.
A new category will be added to the next addition: identifying outreach services to remote Aboriginal communities, supporting outcome 3.2 of the Town’s Community Safety Plan 2019-2022.
Hon. Commissioner Fred Riebeling AM JP invited community organisations to view the current edition to see if details needed updating.
“I’m pleased the Town is once again producing the community directory, an important publication which highlights Hedland’s fantastic community services.
“Living in the remote Pilbara region of WA, it’s vital to have a ‘one stop shop’ which lists all the important service provider contacts in Hedland to keep people connected. It’s particularly important for people who are new to town.
“We’re adding a new category specifically for service providers who work with remote Aboriginal communities, delivering on the outcomes listed in the Town’s Community Safety Plan.
“We understand that contact details can change, so we’re asking all interested parties to ensure their details are up to date: it is the responsibility of listed organisations to ensure their details are accurate.
“I look forward to viewing the new community directory later in the year.”
