Limited Outdoor Group Fitness Activity is Now Permitted

Limited outdoor group fitness activity for groups of 10 people or less will be permitted at Town of Port Hedland Facilities from today. 

Outdoor group fitness activity are sessions such as boot camp / group training, personal training, Yoga and Pilates. 

All organised club sport training and competitions remain prohibited at Town facilities as per current State and Government advice. 

Strict conditions will apply to any group fitness activity, including:

  • The maximum number of people attending the training session does not exceed 10 people, including the instructor.
  • Sharing fitness equipment is prohibited and all attendees must have 4 square metres of space per person.
  • Appropriate social distancing and good hygiene practices are observed.
  • All Group Fitness activity at a Town Park or Reserve, commercial or otherwise, must be booked and approved by a Town of Port Hedland Bookings Officer.  Please contact bookings@porthedland.wa.gov.au.

One-on-one / personal training sessions are also permitted as long as both trainer and trainee observe the 4 square metres of space per person rule at all times.

Fitness equipment exclusively used by the trainee is permitted to be used if the equipment is not shared with the trainer and sanitised before and after the session. 

Please note, all organised group fitness activity within an indoor facility or studio, including bootcamp/group training, personal training, Yoga and Pilates remain prohibited.

Indoor yoga or Pilates classes within a private residence are permitted if the 4 square metre per person rule is adhered to and appropriate social distancing and good hygiene practices are observed.
