We can hardly believe it! It seems like only yesterday we stepped into the big blue building for the very first time, but it's actually been 5 whole years!
This year alone, we've welcomed more than 250,000 people through our doors and hosted more than 140 events.
Port Hedland Leisure has been privileged enough to support the community through various sporting grants, and we're happy to report that this past year, we were able to contribute in excess of $100,000 to help out 46 local teams and individuals further develop their skills and participate in competitions, events and conferences held across Australia.
Port Hedland Leisure also received the 2023 LIWA Community Impact Award for the Town's free pool entry program for local youth, and was a finalist in the AUSactive Healthy Council Award for the work conducted with Hedland seniors through the Town's wellbeing programs and initiatives.
We've come a long way, but everything we've been able to accomplish is largely thanks to the community that's continued to support us year-after-year.
It's because of our amazing community that we strive to keep doing better and we thank everyone for helping us on our journey.
Special thanks also goes out to all our front-liners, our Lifeguards, Customer Service Officers, Crèche Assistants, Swim School Teachers and Fitness Trainers for their commitment to continuous improvement, and willingness to embrace the challenges of today's ever-changing environment.
