Dust your running shoes off for the inaugural Ship to Shore Run in Port Hedland.

Pilbara Ports Authority and the Town of Port Hedland are excited to be partnering to deliver this free, family friendly event, suitable for all fitness levels and ages.

The 6km fun run, starting at 6.30am on Saturday 13 August 2022, will loop from Cemetery Beach Park to the Port Hedland Boat Ramp and back, with the option of a 3km leisure walk following the run.

Registrations are now open and the first 200 people to sign up will receive a free event t-shirt.

Pilbara Ports Authority General Manager Marine Phil Christy said PPA is pleased to be partnering on the delivery of this event.

“We are proud to be part of the communities in which we operate, and this is a great opportunity to bring the Port Hedland community together,” Mr Christy said.

“I’ll be participating in the event along with some colleagues and we’re all looking forward to some friendly competition and challenging ourselves, while taking in the spectacular views of the harbour and coastline.

“This is a family friendly event which is open to all fitness levels, and I encourage everyone to register and come along on the day.”

Town of Port Hedland Mayor Peter Carter said the Town is pleased to deliver events which add vibrancy and build a sense of community.

“Port Hedland is a great place to live and work and events like this showcase the great spirit of our community,” Mr Carter said.

“August is a beautiful time of year in the Pilbara and this run will showcase our iconic coastline and shipping channel.

“We’re looking forward to this exciting event and hope to see a significant turn out from locals.”
