Port Hedland Leisure have implemented a variety of policies and procedures in order to ensure the health and safety of staff and patrons. All programs and services are run in line with regulations as detailed by the Western Australian and Federal government, and a COVID Safety Plan is currently in effect.

There are no material changes for patrons in Stage 4 from Stage 3 – The pool is open for regular use and the Swim School resumes full operations in late July.

However, please note that all social distancing and cleanliness practices still apply.


Is there a time limit per/visit?

Nope! Feel free to pop in at the crack of dawn and leave when we close up – Here are our current operating hours:

Monday-Friday 05:00am-07:00pm
Saturday 08:00am-06:00pm
Sunday 10:00am-06:00pm
Public Holidays 12:00pm-06:00pm

Can I use either pool?

Yeap! Unless a particular area has been designated for Swimming Lessons.

Can I use the Toilets and Changing Rooms?

Yeap! Just be mindful to always maintain social distancing measures and cleanliness practices.

Can I leave the centre and come back in again?

No pass-outs permitted.

When does Swim School resume full operations?

The next full term will run from 20/07/2020-26/09/2020.

When do current students enrol for the next term?

Reenrolments will be accepted from 08/06/2020.

When can new students enrol for the next term?

New enrolments will be accepted from 22/06/2020 – Term fees of $153.00 will be required at time of enrolment.

Do I receive credit for cancelled lessons?

Definitely – Credits are always provided if we are forced to cancel a swimming lesson.

Can I get the fees paid refunded to my bank account?

Refunds are not made unless it is within the 7-day cooling-off period, or if you are relocating – Contact us for more information.

Can my kid join when the term has already started?

As long as it's prior to the conclusion of Week 3.

Do I have to pay for the whole term upfront?

Term fees are required in full at time of enrolment. Placements cannot be confirmed without payment.

Can I get a copy of the swim school timetable?

Unfortunately no as the timetable is created around ongoing enrolments and is therefore subject to continuous change. Contact us if you’d like more information on current vacancies for the various swimming stages and corresponding timeslots.

Do I have to pay entry for my child & myself when they are having lessons?

If enrolled into the TOPH Leisure Swim School, your child never has to pay entry on the day/time of lessons. If the parent is only a spectator, no fees apply, however if the parent swims, then the normal adult entry rate applies.

If enrolled into the VacSwim program, both parent and child pay a daily entry of $2 per/student and $2 per/spectator on entry. If parent is swimming, the usual adult entry rate applies, and if additional children are swimming, the usual entry rate for their age will likewise apply.

Do I have to be in the water with my child?

All infant aquatic classes for children under 3-years of age require 1 adult participating in the lesson.

Are private lessons available?

Private lessons are available subject to instructor availability, at a rate of $46 for 30 minutes.
