The AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety Course provides you with the essential competencies to teach swimming and water safety to persons aged four years and older.
The AUSTSWIM course is a nationally recognised training program that will enable you to gain the necessary knowledge and skills to teach swimming and water safety classes across Australia.
Cost: $380
Accreditation Validity: 3 years
Course Duration: 17 hours
Course Dates:
- Saturday, July 6 | 8:00am-5:30pm
- Sunday, July 7 | 8:00am-5:30pm
Delivery Mode:
- Theory Component – topics may be offered through classroom attendance and selected topics via AUSTSWIM’s e-learning centre
- Practical Component – Practical teaching hours including observation, supervised teaching and assessment of teaching competency
Pre-requisites:
- You are required to have a reasonable level of fitness and swimming ability
- You may enrol in an AUSTSWIM course at 16 years of age, but are not eligible to receive the full accreditation until you are 17 years of age
Post Course Requirements:
The Royal Life Saving Society WA has a partnership arrangement with AUSTSWIM to deliver and assess the course on their behalf. AUSTSWIM are the Registered Training Organisation (RTO). The Royal Life Saving Society WA follows all of AUSTSWIM'S organisational policies and procedures when delivering and assessing an AUSTSWIM course.
